When we started to play around with our ideas for our new line, we kept coming back to the great, the best, the only YSL. His rich Russian line, his playful middle eastern looks, his contrasting blocks of colors.

Then it hit us! Yes, that's it. The YSL talent for marrying just the right bright hues, that is the direction we are taking. The first few samples are absolutely to our liking.

How exciting!

We look for softness.

We have found our path. We know now that abanjá is at its best when its colors are clear and strong, its bath line is crisp and sharp, its details are graphic, simple and striking, it is soft to the touch.

We have told our weavers to loosen their grip, relax their moves, let the loom just move along gently.

What is a towel if it is not soft? what is a scarf? Yes, we definitely want a line that feels as good as it looks.

What we want is silky comfort. That's our "mot d'ordre", our brief if you will.

The launch.

Posted on February 21, 2012 by Jeanne-Aelia Desparmet

We have launched our first abanjá line at the August 2012 NYIGF . It was a big success. Our best sellers were our hand woven Fouta beach towels from Morocco and our berber towels in white with cute button pompoms.

We have been delivering our orders and will do so through October, and at the same time we re preparing our new collections.

We will be at  to the January NYIGF with our new lines and brand new items.

We hope to see you there.
